🎨 Design & Build — From Titanium to Aluminum!
At first glance, the S26 Ultra looks exactly like the S25 Ultra, but when you hold it in your hand, you realize that Samsung has made some significant changes. This time, Samsung has ditched the Titanium frame and used an Armor Aluminum frame – a feature Samsung has brought back for the first time since the Galaxy S23.
Armor Aluminum is not just a strong material in name, it is also a strong material in practice. This frame is more durable, lightweight, and grip-friendly. The phone comes with slightly more rounded corners, making it more comfortable to hold. The weight was 218g earlier which has now become 214g – it seems a small difference, but when you use it all day long, the difference is felt.
There is Gorilla Glass Armor 2 on the back panel and the same on the front – meaning the protection is of premium level on both sides. The glass of the display is anti-reflective, so the screen is clearly visible even in sunlight. The Ambient Camera Design of the rear camera looks quite stylish where all three main cameras are arranged vertically in a single column.
Colors available are Black, White, Sky Blue, and Cobalt Violet. Cobalt Violet is very unique and eye-catching which has never been seen before. Samsung Store exclusive Silver Shadow and Pink Gold are also available in some markets.
🖥️ Display
The display of the S26 Ultra is a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. This is a highlight feature of the phone. The refresh rate is adjustable from 1Hz to 120Hz due to LTPO technology – meaning battery is saved and smoothness is also achieved.
Peak brightness goes up to 2600 nits which is quite helpful for outdoor use. With HDR10+ support, watching OTT content – Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube – provides a cinema-like experience. Colors are vivid, contrast is exceptional, and blacks are perfect for the screen.
🔒 Privacy Display — World's First!
This is the S26 Ultra’s most unique feature, implemented for the first time in a mobile phone in the world. Privacy Display is a technology that narrows the viewing angle of your screen.
When this feature is on, the screen appears completely normal when viewed straight on – but from the side, the screen becomes dark and blurry. This means no one can see your phone on the metro or bus! It works like an external privacy screen protector, but it’s built into the display panel itself, so there’s no compromise on brightness or clarity.
You can set Privacy Display to appear on the entire screen, on specific apps, or only when notifications/passwords appear. This is very useful for banking apps, emails, and sensitive conversations.
⚡ Performance — Beast Mode ON!
The S26 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset—a chip specifically customized for Samsung. Interestingly, the S26 Ultra uses the same chip worldwide—no Exynos split for India or Europe. This is a big plus for Indian users as well!
Looking at the performance numbers, there’s a 24% boost in GPU performance compared to the S25 Ultra. This difference is clearly visible in gaming performance—ray tracing support is now available on mobile as well. Asphalt Legends, Genshin Impact, BGMI—all run with console-like smoothness.
The NPU (Neural Processing Unit) is also significantly improved, which is responsible for AI tasks. This directly benefits Galaxy AI features that rely on real-time processing. There is also a noticeable improvement in CPU performance during multitasking.
A redesigned Vapor Chamber has been used for thermal management, which significantly improves heat dissipation. Even after extended gaming sessions or heavy multitasking, the phone remains comfortably warm, without overheating.
The RAM is 12GB LPDDR5X, and the storage uses UFS 4.0 technology — meaning apps open super fast, and storage read/write speeds are exceptional. The 1TB option is quite useful for creators and power users.
📸 Camera - 200MP
Cameras aren’t just about megapixels—but when you combine 200MP with an f/1.4 aperture, magic happens! The S26 Ultra’s camera system is one of the most comprehensive setups in 2026.
Main Camera — 200 MP, f/1.4
The primary sensor is 200 megapixels with a 1/1.3-inch sensor size. The f/1.4 aperture – which is much wider than the f/1.7 of the S25 Ultra – means that 47% more light reaches the sensor. This difference is clearly visible in night photos and indoor shots.
Samsung has named it Nightography – and it is aptly named. Concerts, dimly lit restaurants, birthday parties – photos come out sharp and bright without grain. OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) is also improved.
Ultrawide — 50 MP, 120°
The 50-megapixel ultrawide camera comes with a 120-degree field of view. Architecture shots, group photos, landscapes—the perspective looks quite wide and natural. Distortion control is also better than the S25.
Telephoto System — Dual Zoom
The Dual telephoto system sets the S26 Ultra apart from competitors. 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and 50MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom — both combined take up to 10x optical-quality zoom.
The new ALoP (All Lens On Prism) mechanism used in the 5x telephoto delivers better optical performance than traditional periscope designs. Faraway subjects appear sharp and detailed — a dream setup for sports photography or wildlife.
Front Camera — 12 MP, Wider
The front camera is 12 megapixels, but this time its field of view is wider than the S25’s — meaning more people fit in group selfies. Portrait mode, skin tone accuracy, and low-light selfies are all improved.
Galaxy AI Photography Features
The camera is made powerful not just by hardware, but also by AI. The Photo Assist feature gives you incredible power to edit photos – remove, add, reframe – all with just a text prompt. Say ‘put the piece of cake back’ – and the AI naturally reconstructs the piece!
The Horizon Lock feature is now available in Super Steady video – meaning AI automatically levels tilted shots. 8K video recording is a seamless experience. The real-time audio eraser can remove background noise from videos.
🔋 Battery — All-Day Powerhouse!
The battery capacity is 5000 mAh, the same as the S25 Ultra. Samsung’s focus wasn’t on increasing the capacity, but on improving the charging speed—and they did a great job at that!
For the first time, the Galaxy S Ultra lineup supports 60W wired charging—the highest wired charging speed in the Galaxy S series. This means you can fully charge the phone in roughly 40-45 minutes. Wireless charging is also now up to 25W, which is a significant improvement from the previous 15W.
In real-world usage, the S26 Ultra easily lasts a full day with heavy use—social media, camera, gaming, navigation, everything. The LTPO display allows the screen to intelligently save power. Reverse wireless charging is also supported so you can charge your smartwatch or earbuds directly from your phone.
One minor complaint: The charger doesn’t come in the box—you’ll need to purchase it separately. A 60W PPS-compatible charger will be required for full speed.
🤖 Galaxy AI — Your Digital Assistant!
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is Samsung’s third-generation iPhone. The Galaxy S26 is no longer just a gimmick—it’s actually useful and integrated into daily life.
Now Nudge — Proactive Intelligence
The new Now Nudge feature reads screen cues and suggests relevant information — before you even ask. If a text message says ‘meet tomorrow first’ — Now Nudge will automatically offer the option to open the calendar or suggest a location. This is truly agentic AI.
Bixby — Smarter Than Ever
Bixby can now understand natural language commands without needing to know the exact setting names. If you say ‘My eyes are tired’ — Bixby will automatically suggest activating Eye Comfort Shield. Previously this wasn’t possible — you had to delve into complex settings menus.
Live Translate, Note Assist, Transcript Assist
Live Translate can translate phone calls in real-time — supporting 13+ languages. Note Assist summarizes meetings and lectures. Transcript Assist converts voice recordings to text and highlights key points. There’s also a Circle to Search feature, where you circle any area on the screen and a Google search is performed.
Creative Studio & Generative AI
Convert photos into professional content with Creative Studio. AI-generated stickers, custom wallpapers, 3D cartoons — just type it all and AI creates it. ‘Draw me a dog’ — and instantly a full sticker set is ready for messaging.
✏️ S Pen — Productivity's Best Friend!
The S Pen is a defining feature of the S26 Ultra that sets it apart from its competitors. The built-in S Pen comes with Bluetooth support, which is powerful for taking notes, sketching, and presentation control.
An important note: S Pens from the S21-S25 series work on-screen, but don’t fit in the S26 Ultra’s new curved integrated slot. So, if upgrading, you’ll need the new S Pen Pro. Handwriting recognition, Air Actions, and Samsung Notes integration all work flawlessly.
💻 Software — One UI 8 + Android 16
The S26 Ultra launches with Android 16 and One UI 8. One UI 8 is Samsung’s most refined skin yet—clean, fast, and feature-rich. Customization options are plentiful, and bloatware has been reduced.
Samsung promises 7 years of OS updates and 7 years of security patches—which is unprecedented in the Android world. Meaning, the S26 Ultra will be officially supported until 2033. This is a strong reason to invest.
DeX mode lets you use the phone like a desktop computer by connecting a monitor. Samsung Pay, Samsung Health, SmartThings—eco-integration is top-notch. The Quick Share feature now works with both Android and iPhone—fast file transfer like AirDrop.
📡 Connectivity — Future-Ready!
The S26 Ultra has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5G (Sub-6 + mmWave) support. Wi-Fi 7 speeds are incredible — 4K streaming, cloud gaming, video calling are all lag-free.
Samsung Pay is ready for NFC payments. There is a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port for data transfer and DisplayPort output. Satellite connectivity is also available on the T-Mobile network in the US — very useful in emergency situations.
UWB (Ultra Wideband) support is also available for precise location tracking — comes in handy with Samsung SmartTag 2 accessories. The in-display fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, and face unlock is also reliable.
